According to the latest news, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed a strong earthquake about 150 kilometers from the coast. Indonesian authorities have issued the emergency status due to a possible tsunami that could be generated by the 7 magnitude quake. In addition, the population and tourists have been urged to evacuate in the direction of the Java Heights. Unsurprisingly, there have been some cases of panic in some areas such as Jakarta’s soekarno hatta airport. Evacuation procedures are led by local officials.
